GRANDFURY
I got a quote for some work that needs to get done to my 89' gp and wanna know if i'm getting ripped off. heres what they said needed to get done two new rear struts, two new strut mounts and mount bearings two new rear tires and a front left outer tie rod, and they want me to pay 1103.74 Canadian for it all it seemed a little high to me so I thought i'd ask. Thanx guys
91cutty
That seems about right for a quote from a dealership. I'm sure you could find somewhere else that would do the work for a bit cheaper though. The shop where my mechanic works will do the work for cheaper than dealerships to begin with, plus I get his 25% discount! Do some hunting and I'm sure that you'll find some neighbourhood shop that will do the work for cheaper. Just make sure you don't end up going somewhere that will do a half-assed job. That could end up being more expensive than anything in the long-run.
joey b
strut bearings? What on the front? You shouldn't need those replaced on the back because it is one piece with the mount. Definately too frickin high.
