67 GTO
I have a 95 Grand Prix GTP. the engine has developed a miss. It seemed to come after a recent gas fillup. I cleaned the MAF, no luck. Now I am going to start to check parts and replace if needed. The first thing I am going to do is a tune up. I know it is a pain on these engines. I have to remove the plenum. Any tips to make the job easier. Or what to look for when doing it.
Psych0matt
I did a write up for the rear plugs a while ago, makes doing them a piece of cake in like 10 minutes. You don't have to remove the plenum, although that does free up some room. That's really otherwise the only painful part. http://www.w-body.com/showthread.php/49622-DOHC-rear-plugs-easy-solution

94 olds vert
I find rear plugs on a 3.4 easy to do.
Galaxie500XL
Same here. There are small reliefs cut into the flange the rubber seal at the firewall on my car to accommodate an extension. The hardest part is getting the plug wires out, otherwise, it's pretty easy, once the strut brace is removed, and the rubber seal.
94 olds vert
Did your car have those slots/cuts from the factory? I notched out three little section for the extensi9n. Makes the rear plugs real easy. Especially if I have have to do them again.
Galaxie500XL
No, they're definitely not factory, they were done pretty sloppy, but they do work. 94 olds vert
I tried to make mine look factory. I painted the raw metal after I cut it out.
GOT2B GM
Or you can unbolt the dogbone and pull the engine ahead with a ratchet strap. No cutting or notching required. Sent from my Z30 using Tapatalk

I believe the Lisle or whatever brand proper tool is relatively cheap though.
Galaxie500XL
IIRC, you can't do that with the LQ1...the motor mounts are different. digitaloutsider
You can do it. If both lower motor mounts are brand new it's a little bit of a struggle, but you can still do it.
