Hypertech chip

I have a 92' Lumina Z34 (284getrag), recently I bought another

92' getrag parts car (blown headgasket), anyhow guy who sold me

car told me he had hypertech chip in ecm. Finally decided to swap

ecm's. I installed this evening, I must say I am extremely impressed

with the differance. I dont know what guy had chip set up to do but

what a differance. Only know he told me he paid $225 for chip 6 years

ago. Just thought I'd throw in my two cents to anyone considering

buying a chip, this hypertech chip has my car running like raped ape.

i have a chance at a 95 dohc hypertech chip for 50bux.

what does your chip give you.

increased rpms?

turn fans on early?

anything you can tell me would help

yes i too have the hypertech chip for my 89 cutlass, and it's great.... immediately noticed a difference, and the great thing is that its piggybacked, so if there is ever a chance you need to take it out like servicing at a dealership (of course that was way back in 89 for me), i would just remove it and leave my stock chip in.

surprisingly i told my dealership i had an aftermarket chip, and most of the mechanics didn't care, and it didn't void my warranty problems... of course that may have been cause i knew a lot of people there

its probably because they know the hypertech and most other aftermarket chpis just change spark...which the knock sensor will retard if need be. Ive never noticed anything trying the hypertech, fastchip, or ADS.
