Yes, I can send you to mail file format dwg for laser cutting.

I would be very interested in the dwg file as well.

That's pretty slick swap. The dwg file would be quite useful. Wish I still lived near the junkyard, so I could help and source parts for people.

Shurup, how is Your rebuild? Did You update Your website?

Everything is fine, but I work a lot and so little time left on the car. I painted all the components for assembly

http://www.drive2.ru/l/4305055/

Disassembled for washing brake cylinder. To connect the tubes to the front wheels, I decided to carve adapters

http://www.drive2.ru/l/4337371/

If anyone is interested, I cut the accumulator http://www.drive2.ru/l/4305115/

I plan to finish all the work and take a ride this Saturday.

^ please tell me that's not copper tubing I see in those pics........

yes, it's copper tubes

Posted

We have a product here in Canada which is marketed by FMSI which is a copper/nickel/iron brake line, great for resisting corrosion,

as long as what you have there is a similar tubing (it sure looks like all copper) you should be safe.

Are we talking about a pmIII to vacuum swap without removal of the dash/firewall plate here?

Posted

Too bad it would cost so much to ship the old PMIII. Otherwise I would buy it.

Someone on the TGPForums suggested taking this route with a swap years ago. Nice to see someone else come up with that idea and actually implement it. This would be the way I would go if I were to vacuum swap a car, though I would use brake lines off another W' since access to them here is abundant and they're all relatively rust free. Shurup's location no doubt makes swapping lines from another W' unfeasible though. Great job on the swap.
