pitzel
Do these ever go bad? Most of my suspension noise is gone from the new struts and the leaf spring pads, but I am still getting a bit of a squeak that sounds an awful lot like this Youtube video when I press down on the rear: [video=youtube;M3OWr1vvy7E] Its far worse on the drivers side than the passenger side, but present in both. 1990lumi
im guessing like any other bushing they go bad over time and need to be replaced
RobertISaar
with a 1G W, there isn't a huge amount of force put into your average trailing arm bushing that i can tell. i think they fail more from deterioration rather than fatigue. pitzel
Any idea how you'd distinguish in noise between lateral arm bushings and trailing arm? Don't want to be replacing a lot of parts here if I don't have to...
rich_e777
You can test the trailing arms, you don't even have to jack the car up. 1. grasp middle of trailing arm firmly. 2. Shake it 3. If it moves replace it, if not congrats your arms have passed the test. Spray some WD-40 on suspected areas and see if it goes away, it wont fix it but will give you an idea where to look.
