m0sh_man
at the yard today i pulled two grand prix dashes, one from a 88 SE with digital dash, and one from a 91 LE tried them both on my 91 GTP, well good news is my alternator gauge now works fine, however my speedometer didnt work with either of the dashes, and doesnt work with the original dash, Is there anyway to check to see if my speed sensor is putting out signal? what tells the ECM how many RPMS the motor is running? matthew
89oldscutlass
I would say your (VSS) sensor was bad. I use to be big into fieros myself their fun cars to drive. I had a 86 SE 2.8 4 speed. If Im not mistaken all the four speeds were Izuzu and the 5 speeds were muncie. Also the 282s getrags are muncies. I didnt know the getrags were muncie till we had to put a clutch in a 89 Z24 at the garage a couple of weeks ago.
