Mint Euro92
The other day the battery light came on . So drove it home & checked voltage I had 12 .2 So I put a new alternator in the Lumina 2 day and I had the battery disconnected for a couple hours while I did the exchange. When I started it back up the engine was surging at idle to 2000 or so rpm & back down to idle. Then I drove it around a little to get it warmed then it seemed to be fine. Has anyone else experienced this too. :?

Slade901
Anytime you remove the battery, you would experience some IDLE problem. What I have read somewhere that the ECM would be able to adjust the IDLE once it is driven above 45MPH for a couple minutes. However, it's recommended to do the IDLE Re-learn procedure. There is a product out there and I think you can find it at ebay. This product connects to your cigarette adapter socket and provides power to the radio/clock memory, ECM, and all other power dependent devices that requires power to maintain it's stored memory. This is useful and helpful to retain any memory from any devices once the battery is disconnected for any service done to the car.
Redfox340
Is it something i have to do or will it do it on its own ? Only if it's a continuing problem and it doesn't work itself out... Check W-Body Performance - TTs Idle Re-Learn for the full procedure. - Erik
