Guest Gp crazy Posted November 16, 2003 Report Share Posted November 16, 2003 Well i fixed the lights on the dash they were on all the time. now the alt is acting weird it charges the batt only with the headlights on with lights off and the dash connected the alt light is on & the needle is at 8 volts with the dash disconnected lights on or off it works fine what did i do wrong? :?: Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

ctx46 Posted November 17, 2003 Report Share Posted November 17, 2003 it sounds like u have a short in the wire that feeds 12v to the alt, yes to the alt, im not sure what color the wire is but there will be a wire in the plugg that will have 12v with the key on, check that for a voltage dropp, (my alt only had one wire in the plugg, so it was easty to find the feed to the alt, I have a 3.4 dohc) I hope this helps man later joe Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
