matt9207
Just as the title states, I'm needing to change all my vac hoses on my lumi. They are all dry rotted and splitting. My question is, does anyone know the sizes of all the hoses? I know it's go be tough but someone has to know lol. Or point me in direction of a site that can tell me.. any help would be great, thanks guys. I'm loving this forum, I'm learning all that I need to Ab my first w-body on here. mfewtrail
Have you checked with a GM dealer to see if the vacuum lines are still available? I can track down a part number for you to search for if you're interested. I'm assuming they no longer have them, but someone else that deals in discontinued gm parts might have them. I recall vacuum spider assemblies being around $35 quite a few years ago when they had them. ^If that's not an option, just remove the vacuum spider assembly and take it with you to a parts store. They'll be able to size up and cut any length you desire from their spools of vacuum hose they keep in stock. What you'll want to do is keep the ends and replace any bad elbows on them if necessary and then slip the remaining plastic/nylon line inside the new hose. Even regular old rubber vacuum hose is likely to last longer than you'll have the car(unless you're like me and keep cars forever ). If you want a really long term option, you could get them sized up and then order some silicone vacuum tubing somewhere online as you're unlikely to find someone that has it stocked locally. rich_e777
If you have a store locally just park it and pop the hood and like mfewtrail said take what you have in and they can match it. Also it might also be a good idea to switch the clamps to some better ones that has a bolt you tighten. I picked all mine up at autozone and they have some with a large plastic handle you can turn instead of having to use a tool, awesome for tight spaces.
