l67ss
Was pokin round ebay and came accross fwd 3800 headers new for $160 shipped. I know theyre inferior quality and need some welding before use. I figure at $160 its worth messing with. My question is for anyone running them on a 1g, any tips for fitment etc etc? Thanks
carkhz316
Everywhere I've searched indicates that one has to smash the heck out of the firewall/ downpipe area to get them to fit; or cutting and welding that section for fitment. It's what I planned on doing someday.

Imp558
I see there's several E-Bay headers in the $350 range, same pic with different part numbers. http://www.ebay.com/itm/STAINLESS-MANIFOLD-HEADER-DOWNPIPE-KIT-97-03-GRAND-PRIX-REGAL-IMPALA-3-8L-L36-/181259638193?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2a33ea95b1&vxp=mtr http://www.ebay.com/itm/TUBULAR-HEADER-MANIFOLD-DOWNPIPE-EXHAUST-97-03-GRAND-PRIX-REGAL-IMPALA-3-8L-L36-/171160872570?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item27d9fba67a&vxp=mtr http://www.ebay.com/itm/SS-EXHAUST-MANIFOLD-HEADER-EXTRACTOR-DOWNPIPE-GRAND-PRIX-GTP-REGAL-IMPALA-3-8L-/231100211793?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item35cea56251&vxp=mtr I'm assuming they're Speed Daddy because of the pics, are they worth 350? http://www.ebay.com/itm/RACING-HEADER-MANIFOLD-DOWNPIPE-EXHAUST-97-03-GRAND-PRIX-REGAL-IMPALA-3-8L-L36-/190942862984?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2c7514de88&vxp=mtr Also a set of OBX on for that price right now. http://www.ebay.com/itm/OBX-Exhaust-Header-99-05-Pontiac-Grand-Am-3-8L-V6-3800-Headers-/181495957473?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2a420087e1&vxp=mtr Edited August 17, 2014 by Imp558
nitehawkjcb
Other than the 1.5" primaries, they look decent. I was only aware that the primaries of other headers were 1.625 for NA or 1.75 for supercharged.
Imp558
Here's 1.750 Primaries for $225 = $25 shipping, and they're mild steel so one end of the crossover could meet my mig welder if it gave me shit: http://www.ssautochrome.com/level.itml/icOid/1886
nitehawkjcb
Not bad, the only con I see is mild steel. But that price is unbeatable. And it's got a 3" downpipe? I might want a set of those lol just not ready to hack up the firewall yet.
Imp558
In my region mild steel is certain to die faster but I like being open to the possibility of welding that flange that tends to leak, I wish they just welded the back one during fabrication since it shouldn't complicate the install much anyway
