Hultz61
I recently bought a 92 lumina euro with the 3.1 and they said it would start but once it got hot it would not start until cool. Now it will just crank and doesn't have spark. I tried 3 modules and replaced the crank sensor but still have nothing. Also no codes are present. Please help
Psych0matt
it starts when cold but not after warmed up? I had the same issue on my sedan, turned out to be one of the injectors. you said you have no spark though, I'd say ICM or coils, probably ICM if you have no spark at all, wouldnt be just one coil
Hultz61
Thats what it started to do but now it wont even start and has no fire. I tried 3 different modules Edited April 20, 2014 by Hultz61
Galaxie500XL
Any codes? A bad ICM or crank sensor, or damaged associated wiring can cause the symptoms you describe... Hultz61
The check engine light stays on but there is no codes shown, changed icm and crank sensor and checked all the wiring to the icm. Nothing wrong there
Psych0matt
gotta be a crank sensor, both icms are bad, or all three coils are bad Probably obvious, but what about all the plugs/wires?
Hultz61
There all good it just has no spark at the coils. And i changed the crank sensor. Computer maybe? I just have no clue
Psych0matt
Computer is possible, but it still sounds like the ICM not sending signal. That could be a bad ICM, or it could be a computer problem, crank sensor, etc. Do you have a spare computer you could try?
Hultz61
No i dont. I was going to try and get one this week sometime. Can the knock sensor cause the icm not to fire?
