BurneroftheRice
Hi guys, just wondering if this ever happened to anybody else, recently, when i get out of my car after driving for a while i hear a soft ticking coming from beneith the car, i am guessing this is coming from the cat. The ticking is very fast yet soft, and gradually gets softer and softer till it goes away. I would be very disapointed if this is cause my (new) carsound cat is bad, its only been on for maybe 3 months. I havent had the time to hit the cat with anything to see if it rattles. Anyone else ever hear this strange sound? Thankx -Confused in Ma

The Burning Rom
If it's anything like the ticking problem with the SLP headers, then it is the sound of the valves opening and closing. The cause in the SLP headers is the thin piping used to make them. With a high-flow cat, it could be due to the fact that the cat is made of thinner than stock material....or that it is more hollow than a stock cat. Just some thoughts on it. 8)

sonyman87
you guys kill me!!! LOL 1 short explination i normaly dont make my posts this short short: metal get hot it expands, sorce of heat goes away, metal shrinks making poping due to "uneven" cooling. more info then needed: drive any older car for an hour stop it, get out, and listen for poping sounds 10 mins after car is off. im sure you will hear them, trucks are realy known for this. topless94style
Yea its basically the metal cooling. All cars do this. Walk through a grocery parking lot with alot of traffic coming in all the cars that were just parked will make that sound.
