Deacon Posted April 6, 2014 Report Posted April 6, 2014 It's simple, what is the difference? One looks like it has rubber on it much like the OEM, the other is a resin or plastic. Your thoughts? http://www.partsgeek.com/catalog/1995/pontiac/grand_prix/suspension/leaf_spring_insulator.html http://www.partsgeek.com/catalog/1995/pontiac/grand_prix/suspension/leaf_spring_bushing.html Quote
RobertISaar Posted April 6, 2014 Report Posted April 6, 2014 one won't eat through your leafspring, the other has for some people. Quote

RobertISaar Posted April 6, 2014 Report Posted April 6, 2014 the factory style(rubber pad) doesn't seem to cause any leaf wear, the plastic blocks do. http://www.w-body.com/showthread.php/74343-Gen1-Monoleaf-pad-isolators-damages-spring Quote

GnatGoSplat Posted April 9, 2014 Report Posted April 9, 2014 I'd go with the OEM style rubber pads in your first link. Quote
Crazy K Posted April 12, 2014 Report Posted April 12, 2014 I've not noticed an issue with the plastic nylon bushings, I have them on several cars.... But i also added a dab of silicone dielectric grease on the top where the spring rides.... Quote
mfewtrail Posted April 12, 2014 Report Posted April 12, 2014 I've not had an issue w/ the plastic insulators either. That's not to say that they don't eventually eat up the spring because they are much harder than rubber which will cushion the end of the spring better. Quote
