Fred931
I'm talking about torque mainly here. I want to upgrade the power of my TGP within the next year or so, but I don't know how far I should push the stock 4T60 before upgrading to a performance-build 4T65E for the end-game 400+HP numbers. IIRC most people say 250HP before cracking the tranny open and upgrading individual parts, but I'd rather get an electronically-modulated transaxle for the sake of some other (more aesthetic than performance) upgrades, so it'd be best to just save the money and hassle of rebuilding such a sensitive part of the car (And y'all know what I'm like around parts foreign to me) and swap it out later on for something out-of-the-box ready-to-go. Big injectors, GT3076R /w/ T25 flange, and meth injection are the first up on my list if that helps. Reminds me that I still might need a X-over, but it isn't cracked yet... mfewtrail
There's so many variables it's hard to say what will or won't happen at what power level. That being said, I doubt 100hp over stock would be any issue at all for the 4T60 unless you're really giving it hell. Keep it on stock type tires if you want it to last. Track it w/ drag radials and such and expect a somewhat quick end to your fun.
