55trucker
A/C Delco, Denso & Delphi all build good reputable parts, Valeo is questionable? it is an offshore Asian company (for that matter so is Denso (Japanese), but Denso makes a good product), Rockauto has a decent selection of new compressors (as suggested..stay away from the remans...you're not really saving much anyway), look there, take your pick, most new items are shipped dry so you will need some Pag oil as well, in '94 150 viscosity Pag was used with 134a refrigerant in GM's Delphi compressors. Thanks everybody, found a new Delphi for $103 incl. shipping. How much pag oil needed for compressor and drier? Thanks Wipp
55trucker
^ The compressor usually holds 8 oz. of oil, general rule of thumb for a new compressor is to drain all of the oil from the old compressor into a measured container, that is what will go into the new compressor (fresh oil, not the used), circulate it thoroughly before reinstalling the compressor. The new accumulator should hold approx 3.5 oz. If there was any sort of instantaneous/major loss of refrigerant expect that some amount of additional oil was lost as well, here again the rule of thumb is to add approx 3 oz. under this sort of condition.
