Nas Escobar
Are you trying to do things in the wrong order? Dump the pan, install fresh filter, reinstall pan, THEN open the trans cooler system as described previously. DO NOT try to change the fluid via the cooler tube, then install a clean filter afterwards. No, I'm trying to not make a mess in my parking lot and save money because like I said, I don't have the cash to buy the extra fluid to push the rest out. And I wasn't going to change the filter after refilling it, if that is what you're suggesting I had thought of; I was going to drain it first to avoid the whole 6 quarts flying around the whole pavement. I don't mind getting dirty, but I also need to be considerate of my locality since I live in an Apartment in the city. Sent from my HTC using Tapatalk. GnatGoSplat
Are you thinking about letting the transmission pump out its own fluid? I would think allowing any oil pump to run dry would be very bad for it. The flush machines I've seen pump new fluid in as the old fluid is pumped out so that the transmission never runs dry. For less mess, you could use an apparatus of some sort to suck fluid out of the dipstick. I usually keep old/weak fuel pumps around for that purpose. This is not a concern, since the trans starts out slightly over-full, and the operator is dumping clean fluid into the transmission as fast as the trans is pumping the contaminated crap into the drain pan. I might just do that. Sent from my HTC using Tapatalk.
Buick666
I'm looking to do the tranny flush as well. The oil started to be browinish colored and smelled like shit also. And for a couple of weeks the overdrive is acting pretty wierd like it's slightly slipping. When i'm on the highway on cruise control, the rpm revs up to 2500rpms when going slightly uphill to keep the same speed and after going uphill it goes back to 2100rpms. But before this when going uphill it stayed at 2100rpms at a 110km/h while cruise control gives it some throttle. So does a tranny flush could get rids of this slight slipping issue or i'll need to change the tranny?
