rich_e777
I'm figuring out why my center hi mount stop light and rear overhead lights are not working. I've taken pretty much all the trim out of the rear seat area and traced the wires forward but was stopped because the passenger seat has to come out to continue. Anyways the white is a white .8 labeled as CRK 17 and goes from the connector close to the hi mount and connects to the TCC at the brake pedal support. Well to the point, i'm looking for a connector labeled as a C200 with 104 cavities, and the manual has it placed on the right side of the instrument panel behind the shroud, WTF is the shroud? Also in a chart I'm following one thing says to check for open ground between CKT 150/350 and CHMSL CONN(connection?) terminal B and S417, what does CHMSL mean? also trying to figure out what component S417 is, I'm sure its in this manual just cannot find it. Also how many C200 connectors are there? Edited February 16, 2014 by rich_e777

RobertISaar
Sxxx = splice. here is all i have on the location. it is a combination of junction box and connectors, pretty unique shape at that. http://imgur.com/9LVlhCW,vycpxec,eaCxSDy
rich_e777
Of course. Also believed I have found that large connector behind the front lower trim just in front of the passenger side door. But that one doesn't look big enough to have 104 Cavs, However I think I am going to skip all that for now and go straight to the TCC switch at the brake pedal. When I did some work on my `86 escort the wires were all over the place.
RobertISaar
S417; cross-car harness, appx 10cm from connector C405 breakout. C405 = fuel pump connector..... not sure what is meant by breakout, perhaps those specific wires have their own plastic channel?
rich_e777
Not sure about that breakout thing either but I also have another thing to look into that is near a "breakout" so I can figure out what I meant by that term. The situation has actually gotten a lot worse, so bad I don't even want to say it, I will but will go put on the DUNCE cone hat and sit in the corner for awhile. (The bulbs were burned out) Still had the factory bulbs and was able to use a old pair of regular bulbs from the brake/tail lights. Also identified the rear overhead light malfunction as being the toggle button on each must have a damaged wire inside, determined approx. 12 volts at the disconnected male end and could get the light to come on as I wiggled the button back in place. RobertISaar
eh, it happens. sometimes i go rushing to find the more complex explanation rather than following a defined troubleshooting procedure..... or failing that, occam's razor. redgrandprix
atleast it was something simple and not an electrical nightmare
