Buick666
So i'm basically looking to replace the hydraulic mount on my Regal. My question is... is there a solid mount that exist for my '96 Regal? If so i'll buy it! Will be replacing the bushings also in my dog mounts as well. l67ss
Pretty sure you can get poly mounts So i'm basically looking to replace the hydraulic mount on my Regal. rich_e777
Ideally you want to lift the engine from the top as the manual states that jacking the engine from below could damage oil pump. So on the piece of wood you use between the jack and pan(assuming you are like the rest of us and does it from below anyways) maybe fix 2 smaller pieces at either end to spread the weight away from the center of the pan. Also solid ones are nice but you can also take the fluid filled ones drill a hole in the side to drain it out and pump it full of Liquid Nails and set it in a window to get some sun for about a week, just to ensure its fully hardened. Cheaper than poly mounts but same increase in vibration you get from them, sometimes I like listening to the engine as oppose to the speakers. Euro
Any "solid" mount you buy from a store, isn't ACTUALLY solid. Best bet if you really want a solid mount, is to do what rich_e said. Drill a few holes into a new stock mount, and drain it...then fill it with black silicone and let it sit for a week or 2. I did my mounts by jacking the engine up from the bottom, just very carefully
Buick666
And do second gen mounts are interchangable with the first gens? Or else i might go the poly route like L67ss said.

Imp558
I filled the hollows in my dog bone Uppers with silicone last week and so far I'm pretty happy with them. Best $3 mod I've ever done.
