douellette
Hey Everybody, been a while since I've been active on the site. I'm currently driving an 02 Impala LS and thinking about selling it. I've been looking around on craigslist and want to get your opinions on some cars I found. Here they are below. 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP : http://maine.craigslist.org/cto/4282824430.html Here is what the guy said in addition to what the ad says: "The pontiac has no known problems mechanically. I drove it around a bit. Super-fast. It's got heads up display too which is nice. Just rockers for a sticker. And I was very picky when fixing it. I replaced the rear struts because they were going to be bad in the next 2,000 miles, same with the a/c clutch (which is a $600 job and a pain to do). Rear trailing arms are good. Original tranny" 1994 Lumina Z34 : http://maine.craigslist.org/pts/4232712460.html I've seen it for sale for a while. Says it just needs a tranny (auto). It is also now sitting on steelies. 1999 Regal GS: http://maine.craigslist.org/cto/4285283431.html Needs a tranny as well. But hell of a price. He says " Runs great, interior mint, new sticker. Says if he 2 foots it the tranny is fine but if it takes his foot off the gas it stalls or something. 1996 Bonneville SE: http://maine.craigslist.org/cto/4284100468.html Original tranny, little bit of surface rust on body--didnt say how the underside was. 2006 Grand Prix base: http://maine.craigslist.org/cto/4284558138.html Needs some work because its been sitting and has fairly high miles. 2000 Buick Park Ave Ultra: http://nh.craigslist.org/cto/4265977183.html Lots of new parts, cheap price 2000 Grand Prix GT: http://nh.craigslist.org/ctd/4277098131.html Havn't talked to this person yet. Seems like a nice car though. 2002 GP GT: http://nh.craigslist.org/cto/4278777828.html has lots of mods, needs bumper repaired. Havn't talked to this person either. 1996 GP SE: http://maine.craigslist.org/cto/4230172091.html Not sure if this one is still available, but very nice car and I never see these around here. I may add some more if I find some, and of course some of these may disappear before I get a chance. What are your guys' opinions? Looking to buy with my tax refund =) Edited January 14, 2014 by douellette
l67ss
I myself would go for the first one, the 01 gtp, if its a good price and it checks out ok. Night Fury
An 02 impala IS a w-body!
Schurkey
'94 Z would be my pick of that litter...but I'm biased. Trans can be fixed, wheels can be purchased. Big things are body rust and interior wear.

douellette
Actually found this, and going to check it out on Saturday. Guy says its clean underneath, really just needs tires. Kept up on maintenance. Black in color. 2001 Bonneville SSEi : http://nh.craigslist.org/cto/4283837680.html

douellette
I'm kind of torn between going with a GTP/regal gs and bonneville ssei.
Euro
Crazy how strict some states are with inspections. Having the rockers replaced on a W-body almost isn't worth the effort and money depending on the condition of the rest of the car. If I had to choose out of that group, probably the silver 2000 GP GT sedan. That seems the nicest out of the bunch. Check out the Regal GS though, for some reason it doesn't sound trans issue if he has to two foot it to keep it running

I wouldn't bother with it.

Can't you just cut out a section of the metal and weld in a new piece? Rockers are common up here and expensive to replace

I remember learning in school about a similar situation because the torque converter not unlocking when slowing down like its supposed to
Breakdown
Northern styles have more legwork, acrobatics, and jumping moves. Contrastly, Southern Chinese kung fu systems focus more on short moves and stable stances.
