no1kicker
Wondering when is it a good idea to replace the ignition coils. Mine have been on for almost 2 years, probably about 16k miles or so. Car's running fine but I was going to do plugs and wires soon and am debating about the coils. Also anyone have a good brand they like.
Guest Anonymous
If they still work leave them alone. And for preferred brand- AC Delco. Just as good as anything else you can get, but that's my opinion.

RareGMFan
I'm pretty sure mine are still original, so I'm replacing them. I'm thinking of going with MSDs, but god damn there expensive.
Thabulldog
Is the MSD ignition difference noticable at all?
Robby1870
Stock coils are just fine
Dannymik
seriously....they work, but there original. Don't worry...there fine. They will let you know when one of the them malfunctioning. Your car will sound like a go-cart! It happened in my last car(1988 Buick regal) and it was a costly job, because I drove it 30 miles like that and my cat started to melt! mfewtrail
I'm with the "if it isn't broke, don't fix it" crowd ..you can however test your coils w/ an ohmeter as preventative maintenance..should be between .5-.9 ohms resistance on the primary side and 8,000-10,000 on the secondary side of the coils..remove them to test
