ABS and TCS problems

Hey guys,

I figure I should go ahead and start a thread about my ON GOING problem. Ever since I bought my car (2000 Grand Prix GTP) my ABS and TCS Off lights have been on. I had some bigger fish to fry (blown engine), so I took a few months to get to fixing it. I now have all 4 new wheel bearings (2 were confirmed bad, and I had them all replaced for free anyways), along with a new passenger side front harness. I've checked every pin, wire, and connection I know to check, the WSS's are getting their signal to the EBTCM, all the pins that are supposed to have power do, everything seems great. Oh yea, for some reason I don't have any VSS signal in neutral (No speedometer, no HUD, no DIC). I go to a local shop and have them pull codes with a Genisys scan tool, and it shows no codes at all...which I know is BS because it showed now DTCs at all, when i know i have a TCC code an 02 sensor code (in fact I have the SES light pulled out of the cluster). I move on to other things to fix out of frustration, and finally get back to it today, and swap out my EBTCM with a JY unit. Do I know if the JY is good? No, but it was worth a shot. I swap it out, and there is no change, except for the fact I now have a speedometer in neutral, and the HUD seems to change MPH smoother (that may admittedly be in my head). I'm pretty much at a loss as to what to do next. I was thinking that maybe I should pull codes again now that the behavior has changed (I now have a speedometer in neutral)??? Pulling codes gets expensive...

Thanks for any input!

Why would that matter? I constantly pull codes and there is no code that would anything to do with ABS or TCS, the only 2 codes I ever have are for the TCC and rear 02. I have my torque pro set up to pull codes everytime I start the car, and if I drive it onto the HWY (VERY small town), I check them again. I do think I have found the issue, though. I talked to my friend who pulled the EBTCM and he said he got it out of an intrigue, not a Grand Prix. I looked up the pinout and the intrigue has more inputs and outputs than the GP does, so the EBTCMs are not interchangeable. With this in mind, I'm going to send my stock EBTCM off to have it repaired.

You are correct, lol! I have a known good EBTCM on the way to me from a GTP, so it'll swap right in. Then I might actually have traction control again! Well, and ABS, but I don't really care about that, lol. Once this all works, all I need to do is change out my TCC solenoid and everything works on my car! For now...and for once....uh oh, I better go knock on some wood...
