no tail lights

I have a 97 lumina and suddenly have no tail lights and no dash lights. Everything else works fine. checked fuses and all checks ok. Anyone ever had this issue?

almost guaranteed to be the turn signal switch inside the column. and it will likely happen again with enough time, the design is just prone to failure.

I saw this occur in a gm truck due to a worn out headlight switch.

i missed the "no dash lights"....the headlight switch in the monte started doing weird things as well, such as allowing the headlamps to stay on, but suddenly all interior lights cut out.... that is fun driving at night. usually would come back on after switching off for a few minutes. i eventually modified it internally and caused a rather interesting and unintentional side-effect that caused the headlights to dim with the interior lights.... that was neat.
