defflepp1
i was trying to change the thermostat on my 1994 3.4 euro but i cant figure out how to get it out. theres a little bracket holding another hose that is in the way. is there some sort of trick or do i just need to remove the other hose as well? any help would be greatly appreciated
Schurkey
Yup, it's a pain in the ass. Brutalize the "little bracket" which secures a heater tube (if I remember right). With some luck, you can then un-brutalize it and re-secure it to it's fastener later. Alternately, you can dig into it far enough to move the heater tube nicely out-of-the-way, but that's way less fun.
defflepp1
ok so i finally got the thermostat figured out and i tired to bleed it. the one heading to the thermostat nothing came out till the engine was hot, is that normal? the one for the heater seemed to bleed properly however im still getting any heat. also the temp gauge got up to almost 260 and the fans still didnt come on, is there any way to test if its the fans or the relay or sensor? any help would really be appreciated

No. the one for the heater seemed to bleed properly however im still getting any heat. Huh?' One bleeder doesn't produce coolant flow when opened, and--I assume--no heat from heater? First Guess: Coolant level way too low. ADD MORE COOLANT. also the temp gauge got up to almost 260 You allowed it to get that hot??? and the fans still didnt come on, is there any way to test if its the fans or the relay or sensor? Yes. It will be detailed in the service manual.
