CW09
Any ideas how I can accomplish this? Is there an intake I can get that will fit up so I put a carburetor and distributor on it? Edited October 13, 2013 by CW09

Imp558
I'm all for impartially supporting things that others deem necessary even when I don't understand, but I just have to know, why exactly do you wish to do this? The ignition system alone would suck to make run.

RobertISaar
i don't think the series 2 block even has provisions left for a distributor.
Imp558
I remember when my Eagle pissed my off enough to tear the rediculous ignition system out and put in an old point style from a 258 mail jeep with a mopar ballast resistor. Going back a couple decades and that POS car still boils my blood to think about.
carkhz316
I've seen a number of 60*'s in demo derbys where guys did it, but as Robert mentioned, since the 3800 doesn't have a spot for a distributor it may be pretty tough
Turbocharged400sbc
you could easily adapt a carb to the top of the L67 LIM but youll still have to run the obd2 pcm or an OBD1 ECM to control the DIS ignition system unless you went and locked it out at a certain timing point with no ESC control for the ICM. it'd be a cunt....easier with a 60* motor since they still have provisions for the 2.8/3.1 dizzy
Galaxie500XL
Or, just find an old 231 V6 from the old days with a distributor....even the old throttle body engines would be fine, because you could put a manifold from a carbed car on it..or an aftermarket throttle body.. If I remember correctly the ICM has the cam sensor and sends resolution signals to the PCM, but I may be incorrect. X2 It'd be a cunt and never run quite right either way. RobertISaar
the ICMs used on 3800s(or 60V6 for the most part) do not need a PCM attached to function. however, they'll be locked to about 10* of timing and will run like crap. Turbocharged400sbc
as i said, it will work just be locked out due to no ESC signal from the PCM (electronic spark control)
RobertISaar
perhaps you mean EST? ESC would be the knock sensor signal.
Turbocharged400sbc
i believe EST was the old HEI generation ignition timing control term...shit some years the timing control is just known as IC (ignition control) i may have said ESC as i was working on a ford the other day, who knows. fuck J terminology lol with the obd2 pcm the EST/ESC/EBTCM signals are all linked unlike the obd1/1.
