Marcus18
as the subject says. I shift at 4500rpm is that normal or is my tach off? when I hold it in gear it hits the rev limiter at 5000rpm. what are you guy running? marcus
93GTP
Rev limiter at 5000? I assume you mean it shifts at 5500 (yellow mark) and the rev limiter is 6000?
Marcus18
no it shifts at 4500rpm when I put it in 1st and don't let it shift at starts bucking at 5000 never goes higher. I need to shift at 5200 thats where my peak hp is. I've gone higher in the past but lately it the limiter is at 5000rpm. also this morning it shift at 4300 at WOT so somethings up. marcus
Intlcutlass
It really completely depends on the situation. If I am drag racing somebody.... I'll take it up to 5500. Passing somebody 4000-4500 Driving just around town 2000-3000

Jeorge
well with my STE it veries...if I hold it to the Floor it will Shift at 6,000 if not if im just 1/4-1/2 inch from the floor 5,500 its kind of odd watching it climb into the Red like that but 6,000 is where the Rev limiter is...or well should be anyways.... RareGMFan
If my gauges are right (and I put a different one in from the factory recently), mine doesn't shift untill well into 6K. Untill I put my K&N cone filter on directly to the turbo, it wouldn't shift at all till it hit fuel cut off. :? I don't know how accurate this is, but if it's true, it may be further proof that somethings wrong with my computer all together.

idbeast
The recent drop in RPM sounds to me like you have a plug or plug wire that is starting to flake out on you...
