dprouty
I have a 87 olds cutlass supreme. I have a 307 in it from a 1982 buick riveria that recently went bad. My question is will a 305 mount up with no other modifications. or would it be better to just redo the bareings in the 307. I am looking for the easiest solution. any help or advice would be great. Thanks.

Imp558
I think you have a different bellhousing. Unless I miss my guess the 307 should have a BOP pattern. The BOP dips down between the 2 top bolts, and the Chevrolet peaks up.
Schurkey
Not to mention re-routing wire harness due to relocated accessories, and starter motor on opposite side of engine. Potentially different throttle cable. Different exhaust depending on which manifolds/headers are used. No promises at all on computer programming. That's WAY too much work to install a 305. Almost too much work to install a C-350.
Imp558
I think a 231 would be a pretty easy swap, If you found a donor vehicle To pull the harnesses And stuff out of
l67ss
NO!!! It would fit but it is a pure crap engine. Pure bolt in, no harness needed, just extend 12v distributer lead, and extend fuel line. I think a 231 would be a pretty easy swap, If you found a donor vehicle To pull the harnesses And stuff out of
l67ss
Th350 tranny is a bolt in swap throttle cable and bracket and carb swap over and the starter wiring is easy to extend programming will work but you are right on exhaust Not to mention re-routing wire harness due to relocated accessories, and starter motor on opposite side of engine.
