Stranger
Was hoping to find some help to make sure im looking for the correct replacement hose. I have a 1993 Chevy Lumina Euro 3.1L and it is leaking radiator fluid from what i believe is the radiator hose. The hose looks to be about 5 feet long and runs from the front of the car on the passenger side to the back of the engine where the heater is. Everything I look up and that the local auto shops have in their computers is a 12in hose that connects to the hose I'm looking at. So on the front of the car there is the 12in hose (believe its connecting to the water pump) that bends 90 degrees and goes down next to the coolant tank. Then a smaller diameter hose connects to that and runs under the coolant tank, back up to the top of the engine bay, then across the back of the bay to the heater. This smaller diameter hose is the one I need and its about 5 feet long (at least). Edit: Just looked at it again and its actually a metal pipe.. not a rubber hose. Is this the heater pipe? or what name would it be called? Thank you for the help. Edited September 28, 2013 by Stranger
mfewtrail
Here's a post that should help... Coolant Pipe. Original Thread Here: www.w-body.com/showthread.php/77468-repairing-ruptured-coolant-pipe The original part is GM # 10145142. There's an aftermarket Dorman replacement, #626-100. They run about $30 shipped on eBay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/DORMAN-626-100-Heater-Hose-/390597626865?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5af16ecbf1&vxp=mtr A rubber hose might last longer, but the OEM style part should also last at least a decade. Stranger
Here's a post that should help... Thank you for that, it was exactly what i was looking for. Couldnt find it when i was searching earlier. I ended up cutting out the section of pipe that was leaking and replacing it with a rubber hose.
