junkyard 3.1/3.4 rocker arm upgrades

Is there any motor that would have rockers that would be a bolt on improvement? I have a 2002 3.4 in a 97 monte im gonna swap to 3.8 but gonna use this motor as a mule for my next w project car (88-96 gp 2-door)

IIRC almost every GM v6 after `95-`96ish got rocker arms with pivot points vs the stamped kind i`m stuck with right now living in 1994, Nirvana is getting a little old now lol. Did you mean to say top swapping a 3100 with 3400 parts? Also IIRC, a 3400 and 3800 are to different kinds of engines to be swapping LIMs and plenums. Ones a 90 degree and the other a 60 degree. This does make me think of a thread where someone with a l32 or l67 was talking about Vette LS rocker arms being able to work but I don't know how much of an improvement they would make or what kind of modding was needed. The guys building the Twin Cutlass have some great things going on with their engines, ought to check that long thread out from the beginning.

I always thought the only junkyard engine rocker "upgrade" was for LH0 and LG5's in the form of L82(93-mid95?) rocker arms? I never read into it much though so I could be way off base.

the 3.1s could use the 93-95 3100 rockers to get a 1.6 ratio vs a 1.5. in late 95s and most 96 and ups, they went to a roller fulcrum design. those need locating grooves in the head that the earlier heads don't have.

 

as far as upgrading something that already has a fulcrum roller setup.... i don't think there are any that exist, stock or aftermarket. the 60V6 forum has been trying to get Scorpion(and possibly somebody else) to make them for YEARS and multiple group buy-in events, never happens though.

 

the gen1 heads can use rockers meant for a SBC, but i don't think gen2-upwards can.

those use the 8mm pedestal that the 03ish and up 3400s started using. you would need to swap heads to use them, but i don't think they're much, if any, better.
