l67ss Posted September 20, 2013 Report Posted September 20, 2013 Would a digital speedometer from say a 94 regal be able to be wired in and work correctly in a 97 monte carlo? Thanks Quote
RobertISaar Posted September 20, 2013 Report Posted September 20, 2013 why would you possibly want to make a squared off cluster work in a car with a very curved dash? if it's for the digital speed, there were police luminas that used a modified cluster that had a digital speed and odometer readout. Crazy K Posted September 20, 2013 Report Posted September 20, 2013 Stock GP used a Cutlass supreme digital UB3 in 95-97 cutlass supreme dash in a 90ish GP. hybrid is where it's at! LOOKIE!!!!! http://smg.photobucket.com/user/onekcreations/library/my%20gp?sort=3&page=1 http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v287/onekcreations/my%20gp/100_0296.jpg Quote
RobertISaar Posted September 20, 2013 Report Posted September 20, 2013 huh? so..... that had a 88-91 CS digi UB3 grafted into the cluster carrier of a 95-97 CS, which was then placed into a 90ish GP? Quote
Psych0matt Posted September 20, 2013 Report Posted September 20, 2013 soo... That begs the question... Would/could a UB3 fit into a gen1 gp? I've always missed mine Quote
WhatTheFehl Posted September 20, 2013 Report Posted September 20, 2013 ...and how is it displaying red? Quote
RobertISaar Posted September 20, 2013 Report Posted September 20, 2013 red plastic/vinly sheet would do it...... though light output would be noticably lower. certainly doesn't have a replacement VFD, the cost of that would be stupid-high for a one-off display. Quote

I would actually rather everything light up the chevy/olds blue, but changing out everything in the GTP would take forever. If I did it I wouldn't be as worried about color Quote
l67ss Posted September 20, 2013 Author Report Posted September 20, 2013 The few times i found a lumina digital for sale they wanted $400+ i can get a 94 regal speedo for like 10 bucks Quote
Luke94vert Posted September 21, 2013 Report Posted September 21, 2013 I may be completely wrong buy I thought the last year the regals got a digital cluster was 91. I've been trying to find one to put in my 93 regal. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote

RobertISaar Posted September 21, 2013 Report Posted September 21, 2013 the tach on the digital clusters is driven over the datastream, just like on the cutlass supreme digital UB3, so unless you want a dead tach, you'll need to work something out for that. Quote
l67ss Posted September 28, 2013 Author Report Posted September 28, 2013 Found a curved dash first gen w cutlass with a digital cluster think it was a 95 anyway how bout mamin that cluster work in my monte? Quote
RobertISaar Posted September 28, 2013 Report Posted September 28, 2013 that doesn't exist from the factory. the 95-97 cutlass supremes got a dash/cluster that is more or less directly compatible with the 94-96 grand prixs (the the regals fit in there somewhere, but i don't know if 94 or 95 started them). in any case, that doesn't sound like a factory cluster. ManicMechanic Posted September 29, 2013 Report Posted September 29, 2013 I just don't do aftermarket anything. I use GM parts whenever possible. Even my stereo is stock but modded so I can plug in my ipod. Quote
