l67ss Posted August 24, 2013 Report Posted August 24, 2013 Ive heard l67 coilpacks hav a lil more power is this true or just hot air Quote
rich_e777 Posted August 24, 2013 Report Posted August 24, 2013 Same coil for most W-body V6s. Get larger diameter wires but other than that there is not much you can do to improve this particular ignition system. That I am aware of other than gimmicks. Quote
l67ss Posted August 24, 2013 Author Report Posted August 24, 2013 Thats what i figured thanks for the fast reply Quote
rich_e777 Posted August 24, 2013 Report Posted August 24, 2013 I usually hop on after work this early in the morning. I replaced mine a few years ago and just to mess with the dude at autozone I bought one for my car, a `03 GTP and a `97 Z34, he got all pissed off until he figured out it was all the same part. Quote

RobertISaar Posted August 24, 2013 Report Posted August 24, 2013 there is a theory behind it due to some L67s getting a different part number coil, but i don't think it is any different. and even if it were slightly more powerful.... you'd never notice it. the stock ignition can handle some serious load. Philbo Baggins Posted October 8, 2013 Report Posted October 8, 2013 Accel and MSD coils already come in bright flashy colors that don't need to be painted...but they won't make your car any better besides colorful insides. Not worth the price and on another car when i once had a fooped up coil the Accel coil i replaced it with shitted out a few months later and i replaced that with a factory GM coil from another car and that shit was solid.
