3.1 oil pump drive shaft not cooperating

i've tried getting this puppy out twice now with vice grips, grabbing and twisting, but just won't budge.. yes, i unbolted the retaining bracket

 

any advise on getting the oil pump drive shaft out???

Pry it up with a small pry bar or screwdriver.

I tapped it with a hammer a few times on the side and it loosened up just fine.
