l67ss
Will a 4t65 still go into all four gears with everything but the speed sensor unplugged if u manually shift it?

RobertISaar
no. just like the 4T60E, with the shifter in 4th or 3rd, you'll be in 3rd gear. with it in 2nd or 1st, you'll be in 2nd gear. those are your only two gears where the manual shaft can override the shift solenoids. you'll also be at full line pressure, so expect some odd things to happen. l67ss
One more question, i can use the pcm from the 01 in my 97 without screwing with the passkey, right? Just wanted to make sure.
RobertISaar
should. the passkey module needs to match the key, but the PCM only cares about seeing the 50Hz signal coming from the passkey module.

l67ss
Just curious, how will swapping to a 4t65 and large port 3.1 pcm affect my cars performance? Currently running a 2002 3.4 longblock, small port 3.1 intake, 3.4 tb and a 1997 4t60. Gonna swap it whether it helps or hinders performance, just wondering. Thanks

l67ss
Just a heads up for anyone wanting a 4t65 behind their 3x00, you just need pcm and harnes from a 2000-01 lumina, injectors 2000+, tranny lines and cvs. L36 tq converters WILL bolt to a 3x00 btw. Imp558
The L67 converter has different balance weights on it. Probably not a good thing to run the L36 one.
