96 cut 3100 rough idle

Ok this is an odd one. Just would like to bounce some ideas off of some experienced members.

Go out it the morning, but not every morning. I go outside and start my car. Hit the key starts up, and kinda fluctuates just about 100 rpm up and down and evens out. After that it runs fine all day. I have a 20 miles trip home and usually don't run it hard, no sputtering, falling on its face, nothing. It runs likes a sowing machine. Get home, turn it off for about 5 minutes. Go back out and start her up.....

When i start her up it fluctuates real bad, when I give it gas to keep it from dying (if I can) it pops, gurgles, and does alot of funky stuff!! Now I let it sit for. Two hours or so, or go out the next morning. BAM fires off and does great. It's wiered because even after it runs like crap it throws zero codes.(using snap on solus ultra)

The plugs arnt bad, the wires don't look bad, I can control my IAC motor on my scan tool. It's funky.

I actually pulled the original fuel filter off of this car, delco 96 LOL. It hasnt gotten worse. It's just annoying. Thanks!

Il check the FPR. I've tore so many of these cars down at way higher mileage than mine and have never had one in for a bad injector, just seems like kind of a rare thing because when it does it it seems like the whole motor is out of whack

Btw I would stab someone for your car. Looks great, any write ups on that? Did you s/c the DOHC motor or did you drop in a 3800?

I case anyone searches for this thread, I have resolved the problem. I did a fuel pressure check, the cars are sopposed to run 41-44PSI (alldata) my car would prime to 20 and run at 15, i am really not sure how it actually ran like this for that long, but I went out and bought. Delphi (close to Delco as I could get) pump for 77$ my price, dropped the tank. (Had a 1/2 a tank, took me 1 hour by myself for the whole thing but I had a lift :) ). Runs like a brand spankin new one! Hope this pump lasts another 115k!

Edit: I just replaced the pump, not the carrier.
