carkhz316 Posted July 28, 2014 Author Report Posted July 28, 2014 Just a little update. I finally got around to playing with HP Tuners a few days ago and turned off/ disabled all the trans codes and now the cruise control works. My wiring procedure for the clutch switch works as planned too. With a touch of the brake pedal or the clutch pedal the cruise disables as expected. Quote
nitehawkjcb Posted July 28, 2014 Report Posted July 28, 2014 Great to hear! Killer setup man. And cruise control? WINNER! Quote
19Cutlass94 Posted July 30, 2014 Report Posted July 30, 2014 That's one thing l wish my car had, was cruise control. Go4DaMo 1 Quote
pshojo Posted July 30, 2014 Report Posted July 30, 2014 so whats the desl with cruise control? do most of these swaps not have cruise? whats the difficulty? Quote
carkhz316 Posted July 30, 2014 Author Report Posted July 30, 2014 I'm guessing some folks just have general problems with the cruise being inoperable. In the case of the manual trans swaps, it's a matter of either the range position switch being in the right position to enable cruise (drive range) and/ or the trans codes inhibiting cruise. My dumb ol' Haynes manual doesn't give pin numbers/ letters for most of the wiring diagrams (cruise control module included) so I had to do some digging to guess which one of the 2 dark green wires was the VSS and which one was the cruise inhibit. I thought if I bypassed the the inhibit signal that it would force the cruise to engage. It turns out I had pulled the VSS wire instead, because when I plugged it back in (after already turning off the trans codes in the PCM) it started working. Regarding the wiring I did in my swap: that was just for the disable to work with the clutch pedal as well as the brake. While not absolutely necessary, I wanted the redundant, factory like function of it; and for safety and stuff. Go4DaMo 1 Quote

The accumulator bolts right next to the slave cylinder on the trans. If, on the other hand, you want upgrade the hydraulics to eliminate the accumulator, see this thread: http://www.w-body.com/showthread.php/76462-Getrag-284-282-SS-braided-clutch-hydrualics-bleeding-procedure I went head and purchased the following from the thread: http://i1177.photobucket.com/albums/x349/Carkhz316/IMG_20130529_005140.jpg Bought this today, as my accumulator has air in it. The Deboss garage link is basically the same strategy though. One removes the slave and manually actuates it in reverse to bleed the system. Thats all one needs to do. Its just awkward in the car with limited space to work. SuperBuick 1 Quote
