sleepingBUIty99
I have a 99 regal GS that recently grenaded. I did some research and found out that the 06 and up l26 engines have the powdered rods, better crank, better heads, and of course the better intake. What all would I need to swap in the n/a, for now, l26 in place of the blown l67. I also have a 98 n/a car that I can steal parts off of. White93z34
Just swap heads, crank, brackets, lower intake, etc etc over In the end all you'll end up using is the rotating assembly, front cover and block. Tune would be needed to compensate for the compression bump.
sleepingBUIty99
I'm not going to go back to the supercharger. I plan to stay n/a for a while with the l26. The plan was to drop in a stock l26, I know I would of course need a tune and a different throttle body, but what else? Anything?
White93z34
Just gotta ask... why? Yeah you'll need whatever parts to convert away from DBW, and you'll need to relocate your MAP sensor and change the plug on it. It would probably run somewhat ok without a tune. Otherwise just set it up with 99' Regal NA PCM adjusted for the different gear set. Fuel lines may be a bit of a bugger to work since they are set up to work with the L67 fuel rail. sleepingBUIty99
THE L67 is blown up, I've wanted to go turbo for a while and my families garage got in a wreck 08 gp with 34k miles. Would it be better to run it with the 98 n/a pcm that I have? Does anyone else run the l26 intake without DBW? If so what throttle body do they use? Also is the 08 flywheel and converter better then my 99?
pshojo
swap out engine harness, engine,. If you use the L26 intake, you'll need adaptor from ZZP or Milzy.
sleepingBUIty99
Who is Milzy and how do I get a hold of him? Can I get some links maybe?
pshojo
http://www.milzymotorsports.com/ http://shop.zzperformance.com/ http://www.intense-racing.com/ Why do you want to get rid of the supercharger?
no1kicker
Here is what I would do to get it running for now and keep costs down. 1. Use a plastic L36 upper intake manifold. This way you won't need a TB adapter and you can use the existing L67 TB. 2. Use an L36 tune but adjust for the GTP trans gearing. (2.93?) 3. Use the L67 flexplate because it is the correct bolt pattern for the GTP torque converter. I have read that the L26 flexplate is drilled for both patterns but don't know first hand. pshojo
I would also use the TB from your supercharge engine, believe it is larger, or at least mine was. I also bought the dorman plastic intake. I'm pretty impressed with the thickness of it.
sleepingBUIty99
I have a Northstar TB that would be great to re use if possible. I'm getting rid of the SC setup because I can make more HP with less boost and less money with a turbo system. It's all up for sale if anyone wants it.
