emb1230 Posted June 28, 2013 Report Posted June 28, 2013 I have been noticing that occasionally my left rear brake is overheating to the point that the rim gets VERY hot, to the point I smell something burning. I checked the pass side and it's not warm at all. The driver's side rotor looks clean, but the pass side looks like the pads are not making good contact with the rotor. What could be causing this? I've had this problem on the G6, but that one was not getting super hot on the side that was clean. Quote
intern8tion9l Posted July 3, 2013 Report Posted July 3, 2013 Jack it up and try to turn the wheels by hand. Sounds like your driver side is locked up Quote
jman093 Posted July 5, 2013 Report Posted July 5, 2013 Yeah it's locked up. You could always just change the caliper, but the 94+ rear brake swap or 2nd/3rd gen knuckle swap would be recommended. Quote
White93z34 Posted July 5, 2013 Report Posted July 5, 2013 2nd/3rd gen rear knuckles only work on cars that don't have monoleaf. Quote
19Cutlass94 Posted July 5, 2013 Report Posted July 5, 2013 Best bet is 94+ rear brakes. They are much better than the design you have. Quote
