mchill07 Posted June 20, 2013 Report Posted June 20, 2013 I bought my GP with new michelin tires, and dont have the budget to replace them. Do they make a paint or something to cover up the white walls? Quote
skitchin Posted June 20, 2013 Report Posted June 20, 2013 Are they directional tires? Usually only one side of the tire is whitewall AFAIK, but I'd think you could take a black permanent marker to them or something. Quote
Leadfoot Posted June 20, 2013 Report Posted June 20, 2013 Are they directional tires? Usually only one side of the tire is whitewall AFAIK, but I'd think you could take a black permanent marker to them or something. This. Just have them flip the tires on the wheels. Quote
mchill07 Posted June 20, 2013 Author Report Posted June 20, 2013 They are michelin symmetry. I see no indication that they are directional. Quote
2001goldGTP Posted June 20, 2013 Report Posted June 20, 2013 can you post pics? im just curious what they look like Quote
94 olds vert Posted June 20, 2013 Report Posted June 20, 2013 I have to agree it would look better without the white walls. Those are some clean x laces. Quote
mchill07 Posted June 21, 2013 Author Report Posted June 21, 2013 When I bought the car I really liked the fact that the tires were practically new and that they were Michelin. I figured I could live with the white walls, but they are beginning to irritate me. Gonna get a quote on having them flipped asap! Quote
ScoobyDoo82 Posted June 21, 2013 Report Posted June 21, 2013 Go to Belle Tire and bargain with them. I got $10 off a 4-wheel balance just by negotiating. They're pretty good for that. Quote
Senor PuffPuff Posted July 20, 2013 Report Posted July 20, 2013 I'd say you should just find a black dye marker like the ones used in factories to mark bare metal. They stain hard. Also some graffiti ink markers are very staining as well. Witches Brew is some super black super strong ink and I bet it would knock the white right out of those stripes immediately. Or just go around to art stores, you should be able to find something somewhere. Just make sure you specify that you need a hard-staining ink otherwise it's just going to come off in the rain or with daily driving. Quote
