RegalJohn Posted November 8, 2003 Report Posted November 8, 2003 I have a promblem with my 3800 series II v6 in my Regal. It has vaccume in the valve cover, when you take off the oil cap there is a considerable amount of vaccume built up in there. If you put you hand over the opening you can feel it sucking your hand. I have replaced the PCV and the gaskets for the PCV housing, and it did not help. If anyone can help that would be great. Performance is still great and there is no difference with the vaccume there. Also there is no SES light or anything else. Quote
99RegalGS Posted November 8, 2003 Report Posted November 8, 2003 It's suppost to be that way. PVC Stands for (positive crankcase ventolation sp?). Your engine vacume will suck the "blow by" gasses out of engine. It's an emissions thing. Quote
RegalJohn Posted November 8, 2003 Author Report Posted November 8, 2003 It really has a lot of vaccume though. Does your 3.8 have a lot too? Me moms in her impala doesn't. Quote
99RegalGS Posted November 8, 2003 Report Posted November 8, 2003 I've never pulled off my oil cap when my car was running. Maybe tomorrow I'll check it w/o my had getting full of oil. BTW: do you have a vacume gauge? Quote
