pshojo
Well it's time, I'm replacing intake so time to replace spark plugs too. I'm installing 180 thermostat. What spark plugs would you use? Cooler or hot?

RobertISaar
stick with stock until you have a reason to change to a different heat range?
pshojo
What brand would you use? Platinums?
pshojo
OEM equivelant? Or does it make much difference
RobertISaar
i think ~95+ LQ1s used platinum plugs. i'd start there. rockauto says 41-932 for any 91-97 LQ1. alternatively, the 41-993 appears to be the iridium equivalent of the 41-932. oddly enough, it's actually cheaper? otherwise, copper plug is R42LTSM, which appears to only have ever been used on 91-95 LQ1s. 41-919 was only ever used on 96-97 LQ1. z34Phoenix
All DOHC's I have see. Run lean. So go one step colder on plug. I used autolite 104's single plat and they worked great
95LQ1VERT
When you mean lean is that when the plug looks a little white/ scorched? Sent from my HTC One V using Tapatalk
Schurkey
When you mean lean is that when the plug looks a little white/ scorched? No. Plugs tend to come out "white" because unleaded pump gasoline doesn't do a good job of coloring plugs. Sometimes there's a red/green/orange tint to them, which is similarly meaningless. Mistaking a white porcelain for "lean" has been a common mistake for thirty years.
pshojo
Well, I took out the plugs, they were all black and fouled. Starting looking little closer. Looks like mouse had chewed up little holes in the fuel reg line and snacked on the fuel injector harness under the manifold. Luckily I had spare LQ1 harness and accessories . Should be in good sitting. I also did buy some NGK platinum. Didn't see some of your posts before I bought. Hope I did ok?
z34Phoenix
Ac delcos are actually made by ngk. So you did fine.
pshojo
I'm lucky then. I can't believe the thing ran with holes in vacuum lines and injector wires mostly chewed with little wire. Left
