rich_e777
Hey people, grabbing suspension parts for a resto and Im looking for the retention plate bushings found on the mono leaf. These are not the ones on the tips but the ones closer to the center. Search hasnt come up with anything. So anyone know where to find some or how to go about making some that function the same? Garrett Powered
spring helpers? MOOG sells them. I have a set but haven't put them on yet. I can't seem to remember where I bought them. somebody here started a thread about a year ago, before that I didn't even know they existed. so I bought a set just to see what it was all about. 94 olds vert
I think this is the thread you are referring to. http://www.w-body.com/showthread.php/52679-Moog-K6000-Leaf-Spring-Helpers-and-Moog-K6544-Leaf-Spring-Pads
Schurkey
I think he's looking for the OEM rubber isolators that hold the spring in position on the body. First Guess: Dealership only. Second Guess: Discontinued ten years ago. Third Guess: Treasure Yard...except they'll be as worn-out as the ones you have. Fourth Guess: Might be able to buy some sheet rubber and hand-make replacements.
Garrett Powered
oh yeah, I remember those bushings now. from when I had to cut the old ones off the factory monoleaf with a razor and putty knife and mallet. came off pretty clean. I thought the steel spring would be better with that in there even though I didn't know that was part of the deal. they were in pretty good shape though. if they are bad enough it would be safe to say you need a new spring.
