redgrandprix
probably going to replace the pcv valve when i'm replacing the back plugs so which brand? microgard bwd fram masterpro or any suggestions? Edit: since i'm asking, opinions on wix oil filters? Edited April 15, 2013 by redgrandprix
GOT2B GM
Pretty sure all the PCV valves come from the same factory regardless of brand. Wix filters are great. And for spark plugs, AC Delco copper plugs gapped at 0.030"
redgrandprix
ok ive been using wix and just wondered and i guess ill go with masterpro on the pcv valve, and i had decided on the r42lts plugs for sure.
intern8tion9l
Pcv = cheapest one possible
rich_e777
. And for spark plugs, AC Delco copper plugs gapped at 0.030" ???????? I thought the gap for plugs on a GM V6 was either .060 or .065. What am I missing?
redgrandprix
stock gap for a tgp is .045 i decided to gap mine at .035 just because on here i was being told .030 and in papers for a topgun chip my sister has it says .040 so i figured why not in between. 55trucker
^ correct, the proper gap is .045, opening up the gap will improve low end power (now keep in mind that you probably can't notice this, but on a scope it would show up) closing the gap will improve power at the top end. This is an *old school* trick to fine tune ones plug for the criteria that the engine is going to perform under.
