I have a 1990 Chevy Lumina with the 3.1, automatic. The car has been shifting hard into overdrive  and I've been thinking about doing a fluid and filter change on it. The car has 102,000 miles on it, Not sure if I should change it or not

Also has anyone used the products Trans tune from sea foam or Lucas oil transmission fix in any of there transmission do these products work?

don't stick anything other than dex2/dex3 or dex6 trans fluid in your transmission. everything else is a crapshoot as to whether it will fix an issue or cause immediate and total failure.

do yourself a favor and change out the filter/fluid now, rather than when it's an obvious issue.

Thanks for getting back to me RobertlSaar! I checked the transmission fluid today after driving it for a while. It was full but I saw some bubbles on the dip stick, is that a bad sign?

Ok I will stay away from the transmission additives, and yes I think I will plan on doing a filter and fluid change here soon!

If you can afford it, use dex6. That stuff is miles ahead of dex3.

Sent from my iPhone in some random spot of Texas.

small amounts of bubbling isn't that abnormal... it's if the filter sucks up air bubbles(meaning lots of bubbles/foaming) is where there will be problems.

So is the dex6 a lot better fluid than the dex3? And would it be fine to use it in a 1990 Chevy Lumina with a 3.1 in it?
