I have a 91 cutlass with the 3.1 that needs to be replaced. What is needed to put in a 3100 from a newr car?

PCM, engine harness. There's still going to be some rewiring involved to make it hook up the factory harness, especially if it's OBD-2. Most are going to have Passkey, so it won't start unless that's defeated. Fuel lines and other stuff will be adapted. MIL will be on for trans codes if 91 didn't use the 4T60-e (I can't remember). Essentially, you're just going to have to know what you're doing and be able to figure a way around all the incompatibilities as they come up during the swap.

You can physically bolt a 3100 up and be almost ready to run, you do need to use the 3.1 injectors unless you get a custom tune, and the egr, egr pipe and upper intake must be 93-95 3100 only, unless you fab or buy an adapter to use the egr on a 96+ car... or egr delete...

you would have modify the wire lengths to make everything hook up, a 93-95 uses the same temp sensors as the 91, a 96+ has one three wire, but it can be hooked up correctly too, wire splice the same three color wires.

So if I swap the injectors and egr do I need to change the factory harness or just make sone wires longer?

Injector plugs are the same. Both are Multec 1. As far as the EGR, Im not sure

My 3400 swapped GPSE has longer wires on the 2.8 harness. it runs on a TGP 5 speed tune. with the 28lb grey injectors. everything mish mashed together.

I wouldn't do it if you aren't a tuner.
