The reason I came to w-body is for expert help on this. the engine sounds good, no knocking but we have to give it fuel through the throttle body. ( rev it up while pouring gas in throttle body) When u get in the car and push in clutch try to move the shifter into gear it will NOT simply slide like its supposed to, just feels like its stuck. we were told that the clutch is bad... I don't know? I will tell you guys that I am 16 and no I have never done any actual mechanic work. But, I am not completely stupid and I do know quite a bit about cars. I have been to busy with school and other things and my parents are disabled with no income regularly. The only one to help me is my dad, he is experienced but not with Z34's. This summer is coming up soon for me and I will be working on it b/c we will have a little extra money. Also, when the car is rolling with the clutch pushed in it rolls fine and clean. But if you let go of the clutch the whole car makes a jerking motion and will stop rolling. I posted a picture so you guys can see it. The body is in mint condition and should be easy to clean up once we get it going.

Going through pretty much the same thing on mine

Check the bushings on the shift cable (on the trans and on the shifter) make sure they are intact

Will the car go into gear if you push it hard?

How hard is the clutch pedal

If it does turn out to be the clutch be prepared. Clutches for these aren't exactly cheap

Sounds like the clutch is working fine. You are stuck in gear though.

I once had a shift cable melt on the exhaust, and when it cooled/hardened i couldnt shift.

Shift handle doesn't move properly???

I've seen engines with bad ground connection to the battery - terminal, that then grounded through the shift cable. Welds the cable to the cable sheath, shift lever won't move. Not only did they have to replace the shift cable(s), but they had to fix the improper grounding of the engine so it didn't happen again.
