21st oldsmobile homecoming car show and swap meet lansing michigan june 2013

it is that time of year when i remind all of you of this great show in lansing. the official day is saturday june 15th 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.there are official events the night before. there is a mini car show in diamondale on the main street. it gives the owners a chance to talk cars and get to know each other. we usually get a police escort in to town. lots of little diners and pizza joints to get dinner. closes down at dusk. the main show is saturday june 15th.the RE OLDS transportation museum is also open thursday - sunday.

the big car show is on saturday.on friday,however....the many who arrive early meet at the showfield and then go to dimondale for a street carshow. it is a meet and greet ....you see the cars close up....and meet the owners that you will see saturday morning. be at the show field around 5:30 pm or so. we get a police escort to dimondale. it is a nice little village. the main street is cleared for us to park our cars.

I'm not 100% committed and will be a last minute deal if I'm going to go.

Considering signing up for this show. How many Verts were there last year? I live in Jackson, about 40 minutes South of Lansing, but I have never been to this show. It says we can park together only if we show up together. Does everyone want to meet somewhere first so we can group up and head to the show?

last year they had a line for the preregistered vehicles and one for the ones that were not registered yet.

I will be attending, but I don't have membership to the OCA. I'll be taking my Vert but sadly the dash is screwed in I don't consider it show quality but yeah I'll be there. I'm rolling with the Alero crew unless someone guides me to the vert crew.

I'm getting mine all cleaned up and oil leaks fixed, bolting down the rear seats, instrument cluster mods and misc crap for the show. Looking for pin stripping, black with silver center.

Agreed here. I DD mine as well, so it has a couple dings. I'm kinda ashamed to show it because it's not a show quality car, but I know it's not a real common car either. I'll see what people tell me on Friday. I really wish my car was in better condition. It's not horrible (I have pics up on the forum) but I wish it was treated better. I try to keep it as nice as possible, but it's hard sometimes.

I DD mine as well. Its super clean, I get lots of compliments on it, but its far from a show queen. I really don't want to be judged or anything. I just want to show it, hang out, and enjoy the other cars.

What hotel is everyone staying at?

I'm using the Ramada hotel as the address. That's where the people from Aleromod will be staying. Since I'm going via them, that's where I'm staying, unless we can get all the Cutlass owners on here and other forums and do our own thing.

 

Or another thing we could do is join up with them so we can have some events to do prior and after the big Olds show on Saturday. It's their last sponsored get together so why not? They've already told me they don't care if non Alero owners show up, but we wouldn't be able to participate in their Alero show, which goes on Friday. They have prizes and stuff like that but that's beside the point. The point really would be to be with an Olds crew since we technically don't have an official "crew" for Cutlass Supremes.

the time is finally here. drive safely tomorrow......and " keep it between the ditches ". we will see you all tomorrow. weather is supposed to be great ....and not quite as hot as it has been the last couple of years.
