boostedpontiac
While removing the crossover from my tgp i managed to break the head off of one of the four bolts that hold the turbo to the crossover. At that point i decided to take the turbo off with the crossover attached. I removed two bolts from the exhaust then on the next bolt the head snapped off as well. WTF do i do now? How can i remove the two broken bolts?
runt
You should be able to get them out with an easy-out. http://www.amazon.com/Alden-8440P-Grabit-Damaged-Extractor/dp/B001A4CWHO/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1362426862&sr=8-2&keywords=easy+out Something like that should do the job. I'm not familiar with the bolt sizes but I've used something like that in the past with good results.
boostedpontiac
I cant use an easy out because of the angle of the bolt. It is facing the crossover with very little space. I was using racheting wrenches instead of rachets because they wouldnt fit.
Garrett Powered
use a small torch to heat up the metal around the bolt threads before cracking them loose.
GOT2B GM
You're going to have to remove the rest of the turbo / crossover bolts (whether they break or not) to remove the broken bolts from the turbo
intern8tion9l
So one bolt between the turbo and crossover is broken, and one from the crossover to the manifold? Is it one of the front or rear manifold bolts?
