95 3.4 DOHC gasket intakes

Hello All,

I have been working on my 95 MC Z34 and took off the top intake manifold. When I went to reassemble it I noticed that I was not getting a good seal where the water inlets meet on the intakes where the engine temp sensor is (not the heater line). I tried searching but could not find what the part no for the o-ring that goes in between the upper and lower intake. Does anyone know the parts number?

Thanks

Take the old O-ring to the parts store, match it with one from the generic O-ring kit. I would certainly prefer a Viton o-ring, but plain old junk neoprene is what they used as OEM.

About fifty cents, depending on the attitude of the parts counterman.

Last one I installed, I coated it with gasket sealer--High Tack. Copper Coat, Gasgacinch, Permatex soft-setting or any similar gasket adhesive (but NOT RTV silicone) would do as well.

I did notice that the o ring is flat. looks like the ones in the link below. Would it matter if I use a rounded o-ring?

The O-ring was NOT flat when it was new. Thus the preference for Viton, which doesn't cold-flow as readily as neoprene/buna/etc.

The O-ring BECAME flat from being squeezed for years.

Thanks. Just wanted to make sure. I plan to buy the gasket set below and notice two o-rings on the kit. Is it intended for this application or is it for the famous leaking seal on LQ1's.

$46 for an intake gasket set? Holy crap. I bet you could get a Fel-Pro or other name-brand set for way less locally. Stop by a NAPA store, ask for FPG MS95822. http://www.napaonline.com is showing a price of $27.

I've got spare gaskets sitting on the shelf I'll never use--but shipping would be a mess.

The large o-ring is for coolant. I don't remember what the smaller O-ring is for.
