Night Fury Posted February 20, 2013 Report Posted February 20, 2013 If there's air in the system which there likely is, then yes. Quote
88red4cyl Posted February 20, 2013 Author Report Posted February 20, 2013 Any guess on the picture Buck? Quote
Night Fury Posted February 20, 2013 Report Posted February 20, 2013 No good guesses unfortunately. Perhaps pick up some dye or something but if I had to put my money on something it'd be on the front crossover gasket Quote
88red4cyl Posted February 20, 2013 Author Report Posted February 20, 2013 I'll swing by auto zone tomorrow and see if I can get some dye and a black light... Dumb question, but does the coolant need to be flushed afterwards, or is the dye ok to stay in there? Quote
Night Fury Posted February 20, 2013 Report Posted February 20, 2013 Not entirely sure to be honest.... I think it's fine to stay but considering you have a coolant leak and will likely be replacing/removing a component, you're pretty much emptying it out anyways Quote
88red4cyl Posted February 22, 2013 Author Report Posted February 22, 2013 So it's looking like my leak is presenting itself upon the system depressurizing. Running I get nothing. I cleaned off the frame 2 days ago and it was all dry. My wife drove the car to work yesterday, and upon her return, it was still dry. Sometime between 5pm yesterday and now (she had the day off because of the weather) the frame got wet again, and there's a puddle under the car... Quote
88red4cyl Posted February 22, 2013 Author Report Posted February 22, 2013 Well, get under there! I did.. Still can't tell where it came from.. Quote
