mchill07
Who has a 94-96 GP with the drivers info center trip computer? Is it possible to ad it on?
Crazy K
yes, it can be done. Does your car have ABS? info is mixed in here: http://www.w-body.com/showthread.php/24730-HUD-info-with-pinouts-and-a-full-database-of-my-knowledge?p=355894&viewfull=1#post355894
mchill07
Yes, it has abs, I also found a connector hidden behind the false insert where the trip computer will go. Is this the harness plug? I know I will need to find a good ambient temp sensor.
crunkGP96
yes, that should be it. The temp sensor you can buy new for about $35.
mchill07
I looked in the area under the hood latch behind the grill/bumper where the temp sensor is typically located and did not see a plug where is should belong? Should there be one? or will I have to make my own?
skitchin
I didn't have a temp sensor in my 95GPSE, haven't found a plug for the sensor either - might have to run wires.
crunkGP96
unless your car came with a dic from factory you will have to run the wires for the temp sensor. The DIC will lug right in but all you will get for temperature is -40 degrees
mchill07
So is there anything that goes in the blank space above the vents in the center?
skitchin
Sunglasses:lol: But really, I'm not sure if first gens ever got anything for that slot. Pretty sure nothing is prewired behind that blank though. I know second gens(97+) did have some sort of module that fit there. Looks like traction button was up there too
crunkGP96
No nothing goes there. 97 and up yes. Thats were the dic went
WhatTheFehl
That is an excellent spot to add an aftermarket oil pressure gauge though.
skitchin
That is an excellent spot to add an aftermarket oil pressure gauge though. I was going to mount my OP gauge there, but the gauge was just slightly too big for a good fit. Also couldn't figure out a good way to mount it:(
mchill07
Does anyone have the schematics on this thing? I have the harness to plug it in but I'm missing a temp sensor. Not sure were to start on hooking on up.
Crazy K
On cars equipped with a temp sensor, the harness is integrated into the headlight harness. it is simply two wires that go from the C200 connector (passenger side under dash at far right) to the sensor. I have added the sensor twice now, and each time I simply extracted that wire pair from a j/y donor, taped them up and ran them bundled with the headlight harness. the C200 end can be pinned into the stock location on the headlight connector.
