crunkGP96 Posted February 5, 2013 Report Posted February 5, 2013 Finally! I had been searching for these wheels for so long. As some of you know I picked up a set of these about 2 months ago but they were in pretty rough shape. I was debating on wether to get them refinished or not but thankfully I found another near perfect set and from FLORIDA!! These wheels are off a 96 GP special edition. Just the touch my 95 GTP needed. I cant stop drooling on how sweet these are! Now for the tires! Been looking at these in a 245 50 16 since there isnt any other tire that I really like http://www.ebay.com/itm/360487420295?_trksid=p5197.c0.m619 What do you all think? They even have them in a 255 50 16. Will that clear and is it too tall of a tire? Quote
94 olds vert Posted February 5, 2013 Report Posted February 5, 2013 Those should look great on your car! Quote
oldmangrimes Posted February 5, 2013 Report Posted February 5, 2013 Wow those wheels looks incredible! I'm sure they were expensive, but worth it! Make sure you post pictures once you get tires and get them on your car. Quote
RobertISaar Posted February 5, 2013 Report Posted February 5, 2013 255/50-16 isn't too tall... that's 26.04 inch tire height. i've run 215/75-15s before, those are 27.7" and they get really close to hitting the bottom of the coil "perch" but still no issues. Quote
crunkGP96 Posted February 5, 2013 Author Report Posted February 5, 2013 Those should look great on your car! Thanks! I can't wait. Cmon nice weather! Wow those wheels looks incredible! I'm sure they were expensive, but worth it! Make sure you post pictures once you get tires and get them on your car. They actually weren't that bad price wise considering how hard they are to come by ESPECIALLY in great shape. I really like the fact that these have never seen snow or salt. I kust ned to get those god awful weight that are on the outside of the weel 255/50-16 isn't too tall... that's 26.04 inch tire height. i've run 215/75-15s before, those are 27.7" and they get really close to hitting the bottom of the coil "perch" but still no issues. Thanks for the info! Now I wonder if the front will rub on hard turns against the plastic. I know back in the day when I had the 20" wheels on my 96 GP it would rub at times. I belive those tires were 255 40 20 or 255 45 20. I know the 255 is a little wide for the wheel but I REALLY want the widest tire possible. Quote
